The following questions are about the human endothelin 3

  1. List at least three GenBank Accession numbers for it's mRNAs?
  2. Which human chromosome is this receptor located on?
  3. What is its LocusID?
  4. What is its UniGene #'s?
  5. Which diseases are associated with this receptor?
  6. Using more than one information source, identify the protein family this receptor belongs to. What information sources have you used and what family does the receptor belong to according to them?
  7. There are no known structures for this receptor, however there is a human endothelin 1 structure. In this section, try and find out, how related are the endothelin 1 and 3 sequences available in SwissProt:
    1. after how many iterations does the PSI-Blast query converge?
    2. submit a multiple sequence alignment with ClustalW for the 21 resulting endothelin 1 & 3 sequences
    3. answer 7a for just the endothelin domain in the endothelin 3 protein sequence. Describe your strategy.
